Closed Course vs. Public Streets

Understanding the difference between test types can help you choose the best fit:

  • Closed Course:
    The test happens on a dedicated driving course owned by the exam station.
    No regular traffic. Maneuvers are predictable and controlled.
  • Public Streets:
    The test takes place on real city streets.
    You will encounter actual traffic, signs, signals, pedestrians, and more real-world driving conditions.

Both options are equally valid and accepted by the DVS.

Students typically choose based on comfort level and test availability.
